For 27 years the ensemble, a unique public outreach program of the McGill School of Medicine has provided the Montreal community with the healing power of music through concerts benefiting the healthcare community and other local charities.
The orchestra brings a unique artistic and social dimension to Faculty of Medicine and University events and the community at large. Drawn from a talented pool of faculty, students, alumni and friends, the intergenerational orchestra provides music at regular public concerts as well as for faculty meetings, convocations, international and local medical conferences; smaller ensembles of I Medici perform regularly at local area hospitals and hospices.
The excellence and dedication of the group attracts the participation of first rate soloists, such as Caroline Chéhadé, Emmanuel Vukovich, Elisa and Amy Barston, Kiyoto Hashimoto, Mark Djokic, Frédéric Lambert, Stéphane Tétreault, Martin Karlicek, Frederic Bednarz, Jacqueline Leclair, Isaac Chalk and others.
